We have opened a line: A space to listen, to archive, to honour those who journey with us.

We gather the voices of our collaborators. 
Their thoughts, their stories, their frequencies.

We begin with Call+Continuum; a theme we explored through being commissioned by the Zeitz MOCAA Gala Collateral Programme, to curate sounds in celebration of the role South African women play in the creative industries. These are women who are not just making music, but holding memory.

Resisting erasure.
Declaring existence.

The Call is loud, intentional, undeniable.
The Continuum is subtle, generational, grounding.

We asked: What does Call + Continuum mean to you?

Sio, born Siobhan King in Ennerdale, Johannesburg, is a South African storyteller, singer-songwriter, and artist celebrated for her soulful voice and remarkable ability to traverse various genres, including house, electronic, alternative, and soul music. Her musical journey began with choir and songwriting, influenced by iconic artists like Brenda Fassie, Sade, and Boyz II Men.

Sio is widely recognised for her contemplative, poignant, and sweet narratives, conveyed through diverse artistic expressions such as music, poetry, performance, design, and interpretation. Her unique skill in seamlessly transitioning between genres like dance, house, and electro distinguishes her in a new era of music.

Beyond being a vocalist, Sio is also a prolific songwriter and producer, with her music serving as a profound reflection of her multifaceted talents. Her distinctive style is a unique blend of electronic, soul, and deep house music, and she has collaborated with a host of top producers, including Charles Webster, Ralf Gum, Jullian Gomes, Fka Mash, and Dwson. In 2017, she notably placed 9th on the Traxsource Top 100 Vocalists list.
